Pentecostal Temple Church of God in Christ was founded and organized in May 1973, by the late Pastor Richard Charles Edwards with his loving wife Mother Rosa Edwards who was fully by his side. Elder R. C. Edwards served the church for 26 years. The Lord blessed this marriage to prosper for 53 years.

On November 23, 1999, the Lord called Pastor R.C. Edwards from labor to reward. Under him and his wife many souls were brought to Christ. Pastor R.C. Edwards left a legacy and a pair of shoes no man could fill! In the month of April, 2000 a new leader was appointed, and the mantle of spiritual direction was passed to Elder Samuel L. Edwards, who is the son of the late Pastor R.C. Edwards and Mother Rosa Edwards. Elder Samuel Edwards has supported the church throughout the years. He has served in various capacities of the ministry. Although our founder has gone on to be with the Lord, he leaves behind a wife and family to carry out the vision of the ministry of restoring life's through the power of Jesus Christ.

Together they echo the favorite scripture of our founder, which is I will bless the Lord at all times and his praise shall continually be in my mouth. Psalm 34:1
